I really enjoy writing stories and coming up with plots and characters, but it is a lot of work to get noticed. For anyone interested in publishing, and you have written a story that does not fit within an exiting genre, self-publishing may be the way to go. I knew that they would get the book published, get an isbn number, copyright, etc., but they really do not help with marketing. If anyone has any suggestions about how to market a novel successfully, I would appreciate any information you may have. It is challenging to say the least. I am in the process of writing the second book in my series, Second Chances and it is challenging. This book involves a serial killer. It is very interesting to read about psychopathy and coming up with crimes scenes. I am still working out the family dynamics for Sandy’s family. I would suggest that anyone writing a novel use in depth character worksheets. You will not use all the details or background information, but it does give you a better sense of how your characters will react or what they want, even the minor characters.
