When I have to describe a room or house in my novel, I have found that it is easier if I find a picture of a home or room that matches the one that I see in my mind and then I can look at the image and describe it in a way that is more detailed, but not necessarily long winded. I can pick and choose which features are important to the story or the the character. The home in which a character lives, says something about them. Now, I am a collectors of rooms and houses. But, it does help with my writing.

This is just one of the images I have saved. I love log cabins and wow, who wouldn’t want to live here. For me I am a visual person. When my imagination remains fogged, I brings up an image that will help get the creative juices flowing.
