It has been a journey trying to get my novel Gift of Dreams published. I first went to IUniverse and well, not only do they nickel and dime you, but they are not good editors. I published the novel, but there were so many mistakes that when I had the book reviewed, that was the major complaint. I unpublished the novel and paid to have my novel beta read and then edited. I am glad for the experience, because I believe that my novel is much better. I sent it out again to publishers and was advised to enter my novel for the Maxy Award. To my great surprise, I won the 2024 Maxy award for Female Fiction and Romance. Unfortunately, the second publishing company I chose this time is not much better than IUniverse. But I do have some thoughts of how to get my novel out there. I have been reading anything I can about publishing and getting my novel noticed. This blog is one of the tools that I have added to my tool box. It is difficult to find a good publishing company. I have learned that the hard way. Reading reviews is important. I would recommend the magazine Writer’s Digest to all aspiring writers. They offer lots of advice and give websites that will help with agents and publishers.
